Benefits of being sportspersons

What are the benefits that professional sportspersons in your country is offered in exchange of their victories in International sports?

In my country, if its an international sports event, then the national government would gift money (in the tune of 3 to 5 million in local currency which is not much), the state government would put in a little more and also get a permanent employment in public sector where they get their chances of pursuing their career in sports further also.
