Black label Johny Walker Whisky - Red in colour?

My friend gave me a bottle and the bottle said - Black Label, Johny Walker Whisky. It looked red to me and I know Whisky is not red. I do not drink and I thought perhaps I would offer it to my neighbour as they will soon be having a wedding but fortunately I called up my friend and diplomatically asked that question and then she tells me it is home made wine filled in that bottle !!!
