Many forums avoid counting posts in games or non-discussion areas, focusing instead on meaningful content and community interaction. But does it really matter? Does the number of posts impact the quality of discussions, or do you think fostering meaningful conversations is more important? How do you find the right balance on your forum?

No reasonable forum owner will prefer quantity over quality posts. Quality posts are what helps a forum rank higher on SEO, while aimlessly churning out substandard posts just to increase post count is basically spamming.

You need quality posts. If you have quality posts you can get traffic as well as engagements. Would people join a forum to talk about what they ate for dinner? Certainly not. But they might join to discuss on how to cook dinner.

I would always advocate for quality posts. I won't rate a forum for the total post count it has. But I would rather rate a forum for the amount of good information and valuable knowledge that I can get from that forum. And only quality posts ensure that.
