I recently read a book called the 'AI Snake Oil' which says that the threat of an AI takeover is mot very big a we think
The idea is - imagine an AI bot being asked to produce as many as safety pins as possible, then at one point AI will realise that it can keep making safety pins only if it controls the metal ores and labour. However, the book argues that in such a case, a super-intellgent being like AI bit will understand that keeping on making a safety pin is not worth all this.
What are your thoughts?
