Do you listen to music while reading?

There are people that need dead silence before they can be able to read. I have also seen people that needs to have the earphone active and music playing just for focus when they read. Are you the type that plays music before you can read?

Sometimes. But prefer instrumental stuff. Vocals sometimes make it hard to concentrate.

No, I do not listen to music while reading books. I like silence while reading books. That's because I do not read just for pleasure, I read to know something. Even when I am reading fiction, I read to learn the language and the craft. Therefore, I require full attention.

I don't like any distraction when reading either a book, article, forums, etc. I can see light music in the background works for some but I like concentrating on one thing at a time. Plus, if it's a good song, I tend to shift my focus onto the lyrics lol

I listen to music during most things or at least find it a plus to do so, but reading long-form items and writing long-form items I find it too distracting. I will throw on stuff without vocals at times if I am reading all day, but that is mostly background noise, and debatable if I will enjoy it or turn it off.
