Logan's Run is a book that depicts a dystopian, ageist society in which population growth and resource consumption are kept in check by mandating citizens die when they reach a certain age. The narrative follows Logan, a Sandman tasked with upholding the law, as he hunts down and murders people who "run" from society's lethal demands—only to find himself "running" as well.
It's one of my favorite books of all time.
