During 2020 I contracted covid unfortunately and was quite seriously ill, during this time I lost my sense of smell and taste for a significant period. It took around two months for my taste to fully return.

Ever since this, I've experienced short periods of time where I lose my sense of taste. Sometimes it's for just a few hours, sometimes a few days at a time, and it's extremely annoying and somewhat distressing surprisingly at times too. Having not got many answers medically, I'm wondering if anybody has experienced similar side effects since covid infection and if so, did you find anything that helped resolve it?

I currently have covid and got it in 2021. Thankfully I didn't lose my sense of taste, but sadly I've heard people losing their sense of taste for years. I'm afraid I'm not sure what you can do, I assume you talked to a doctor about it. There's so many strains of Covid and they all affect people differently. I hope this will eventually go away for you so you don't have to worry about if you're going to lose your sense of taste!

That has never happened to me. I have a sweet tooth and do relish other food equally. May be when I have fever I may lose my appetite but that is temporary and that has never happend in the recent past.

Thankfully, I have never experienced this and don't like to experience it. I have heard about it during covid times and I hope it stays away from our lives.
