They Join. They Don’t Post.

We've all had members join our forums but then never contribute a single post. It can be frustrating to see a growing member list but a lack of engagement.

What strategies have you found effective in getting members to start posting after they join?

We've got a couple I think.

Some people are reader, they don't like to post and I think that is perfectly fine. But as a forum owner/manager, we can post on their profile or even send PM to encourage them to start posting.

Even as a forum member, it really feels depressing to see members that join and don't post anything. And the funny thing is that you can't do much about it as long as you know your forum is having quality discussions. I would just give them some time and if they are not making any posts, I would delete their accounts.
