What can make you sell your forum?

I have seen a couple of webmasters decide that it is high time to sell their forums. This has made me wonder what is the main reason that can make anyone decide they have to sell their forums? What could be your reason?

I honestly can't imagine anything would. It's just a passion-driven hobby... profit isn't my goal at all.

The motive would be money offered and unless the forum was very dear to my heart, it's a no-brainer I would sell.

Now, myself, the only forum anyone wanted to buy from me was a XenForo one about math. I sold it for $200 I think, but I regret selling it, but I was going thru financial problems.

There isn’t anything in the world that would make me sell my forum. It’s my baby. I originally started it as just a directory in 2004. It’s been with me from my child hood and through my adult hood.

There’s no price on it ever.

Agreed however i am in it to profit too.

I've sold a couple due to the people who were supposed to run it with me let me down. I ended up having no commitment after that.

I've put a lot of money into this one and I've got good staff.

i agree my comment above was in relation to that i have a passion in this and i am going to profit in it too and so will my staff in the end.
