Do you use social media? If so, would you ever consider disconnecting from a particular platform you use now, or leaving all your social media feeds entirely? What do you think you would gain or lose?

I still use social media from time to time but if I had to make a decision on whether I would quit it or not then I would definitely be able to quit it. For as much as I use it for now it wouldn't be missed.

I do not use social media platforms to squander my time., I use to have fun as well as market my products and services, as well as monetize my content. I even use social commerce.

I tried to manage my energy on social media. I have a couple of friends that I always chat with on a daily basis and leaving social media will mean not reaching out to these people whenever I need them or they need to talk to me. So, for now I have no reason to leave social media.

Since I rely on it to keep in contact with real-life friends... the only way I'd quit is if those friends did (or I found some other way to keep in contact with them).

Frankly speaking since I discovered the paid to post forums I no longer have the interest in social media sites m

I quit Facebook and Youtube a couple of years ago. Don't miss it at all. I'm now using a member driven, decentralized network. Very cool, and people actually interact with my content.

That's why I joined, too. But interaction with my friends tapered off quite a bit, and it became more of a routine/obligation to post, not for fun....

I could quit social media, but I would miss out on watching family members grow up, get married and have kids of their own. So, that's the reason I actually stay with social media.

I hear ya. Very few of my family members use FB tho, so there is no real point for me. We also Zoom once a week, which I find much more enjoyable. :)

We tried the family Zoom thing during covid and it was just cacophony and everyone would log off with a headache. Half the time was teaching the older folks how to use Zoom, their mic, their camera, etc. Then a third of the time was seeing the pets on screen. LOL

I was nervous at first, as I had been Skyping with just my parents while everyone else Zoomed. When I finally joined, it was cool. I saw my whole family (I'm about 1000 miles away, so it was awesome). Everyone got along, and the tech worked perfectly. Been doing it every Monday now for several years. :)
